Watson Electrical Apprentices Receive Top Honors from the
NC Dept. of Labor Apprenticeship Bureau

Jonathan Spargo (Charlotte) placed 1st, Josh Leo (Winston-Salem) placed 2nd, Ashley White (Raleigh) placed 6th and John Thompson (Winston-Salem) placed 7th at the NC State Fair’s annual Electrical Apprenticeship Contest sponsored each year by the North Carolina Department of Labor. Watson’s apprentice’s placed in the top seven out of 27 other 3rd and 4th year apprentices from across the state. The competition is intense where an apprentice employs practically every skill of the trade in completing a four-hour project and an hour long electrical code test. The apprentices, accompanied by their training supervisors and managers, competed in the daylong contest. As added recognition, Jon Spargo will be representing the Carolinas at the Associated Builders and Contractors National Craft Competition in Nashville, TN during March 2007. Since 1995 Watson Electrical participants have consistently placed in the top ten at the state apprenticeship contest with five 1st Place, five 2nd Place, six 3rd Place, six 4th Place, two 5th Place, five 6th Place, three 7th Place, one 8th Place, two 9th Place and one 10th Place winners. These accomplishments signify the fact that these apprentices are well on their way to a successful career by helping make Watson Electrical the premier Electrical Contractor of the Carolinas!
