Special Division Receives Award of Excellence

On November 20th, the Special Division received the "Award of Excellence" (received by Bovis Lend Lease) for the Brenner Children’s Hospital Ardmore Tower Addition. The award was presented by ABC of the Carolinas at the Second Annual Excellence in Construction Awards Banquet held in Charlotte.

The total electrical contract for this project exceeded $11,000,000.00 and 167,000 man hours. The project included approximately 400,000 square feet of additions and renovations including operating rooms, specialty rooms, and patient care rooms, largely tailored to child care of various types.

The project staff included Jeff Taylor, Senior Project Manager; Calvin Thorne, Project Supervisor; assisted by Ken Knight & Wayne Bryant, Supervisors; and Donna Simms, Secretary.
