12.05.2005 Technicians Receive Certification In Fire Protection From NICET

Congratulations to both Adam Waters (10 years Watson Employee) and Danny Bunn Jr. (recent graduate of electrical apprentice program) on their successful certification as NICET Technicians.

The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies or NICET is a nationally recognized certification program that helps lay out a path for career advancement from entry to senior level responsibilities. The program was designed by industry experts to provide engineering technology fields with a qualified workforce. As a result of their organizational commitment to excellence NICET certification has become a requirement to perform work in many states.

The Fire Protection Program, which both Adam and Danny participated in, was designed for engineering technicians working in the fire alarm industry who engage in a combination of the following fire alarm systems activities: system layout (plan preparation), system equipment selection, system installation, system acceptance testing, system trouble-shooting, system servicing, and system sales. The technical areas covered include applicable codes and standards, types of signaling systems, supervision requirements, types of fire and smoke detectors, building occupancy considerations, electricity and electronics, and physical science fundamentals.

As a result of both Adams and Danny’s successful efforts, Watson Data Services continues to add new products and services to our exciting line. Two-thousand six looks to be a banner year for our growing division based on the relationships we have with existing customers and the new relationships we will be able to add thanks to their hard work.
