2008 NC State Fair

Chris Januzys, Burlington Division, won first place at the NC State Fair annual Electrical Apprenticeship Contest sponsored each year by the North Carolina Department of Labor. Percy Manuel, Special Division, won second place. Chris and Percy competed against 31 other 3rd and 4th year apprentices from across the state. The competition is intense where an apprentice must efficiently demonstrate nearly every skill of the trade in completing a four hour project and an hour long electrical code test. Last year at this same event Chris finished 3rd in the state. This year he returned to win it all.

Chris is a 4th year apprentice and has been employed with Watson Electrical since 1999 in our Burlington Division. Currently Chris is also enrolled in our Construction Management Training Program.

Percy is a third year apprentice and has been employed with Watson Electrical since 2006. This was Percys first year to compete. He is eligible to return to the 2009 NC State Fair and compete again.
