Watson Electrical Employees Receive Highest Honors Carolina’s ABC Sixth Annual Evening of Excellence

Mike Vanderpool, Rocky Mount Division, was awarded one of industry’s top honors
as the Carolinas ABC 2007 Craft Professional of the Year. Doug Thorpe, Charlotte
Division, also competed for this ABC chapter award. The Carolinas ABC Craft
Professional of the Year Award “recognizes the top professional who builds our industry.
The award recognizes commitment to their trade, their expertise and professionalism, and
commitment to their fellow workers and community”. The winner best embodies the ideals of
Merit Shop and represents the Carolinas construction industry for all trades through superior
effort and talent, as recognized by others. Mike received a plaque, laptop computer and
assorted tools. Mike will now represent the Carolinas at the ABC National Craft
Professional Competition in March 2008.

Michael Claar, Wilmington Division and Chris Januzys, Burlington Division were also
honored as the first and third place winners of the 2007 NC State Electrical Apprenticeship
Contest. Michael will be representing the Carolinas at the ABC National Apprenticeship
Competition in March 2008.
