The Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABC) today praised the South Carolina House of Representatives for recognizing and honoring the state's first ever National Craft Champion. Jesse Babington, a fourth year apprentice at Watson Electrical, was recognized in a South Carolina House Resolution for winning the gold medal at the 2015 National Craft Championships in the Electrical division. The Craft Championships took place in March in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Representative Chris Murphy (SC-98) and Representative Joe Daning (SC-92) presented Babington with the Resolution from the house floor. "We are proud to recognize Jesse for his outstanding accomplishments", said Rep Daning from the House Floor. "Jesse's hard work and love for his craft and determination to be the best, deserve him of our praise."...

News Release: Watson Electrical takes 1st and 3rd place at the 2015 ABC National Craft Championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Jesse Babington, Charleston Division, finished in 1st place and took home the gold medal. Russell Johnson, Raleigh Division, finished in 3rd place and took home the bronze medal. Both competed in the Electrical: Commercial/Residential competition that ended on March 6th. Both are also prior winners at the state and local levels. Russell was the First Place winner at the 2014 North Carolina Department of Labor Electrical Apprenticeship Competition at the NC State Fair in Raleigh last fall, which qualified him to compete at the ABC National Competition. Jesse finished 1st at the 2014 Charleston Electrical Contractors Association contest.

Charlotte, NC - ABC of the Carolinas recently held their 5th Annual Safety Conference on October 2, 2014 at the Speedway Club. Over 150 attendees who participated in the annual event to promote and live the safety culture making sure everyone goes home.
