Watson Electrical Construction Company’s Annual Apprentice Contest 2017

Wilson, NC – The 23rd annual Watson Electrical Construction Company’s Apprentice Contest for 2017 was a great success with twenty-three apprentices competing for cash and prizes.

This year’s winners are First Place, David Carlton (Raleigh, NC); Second Place, James Delauney (VA Beach/Chesapeake, VA); Third Place, Wesley Sartain (Raleigh, NC); Fourth Place, Joseph Hensley (Raleigh, NC); Fifth Place, Craig Zagrocki (VA Beach/Chesapeake, VA). The safety award winner is Alfredo V. Sibilly, III (Fayetteville, NC).This year's Winners

Virginia Receives STEP Award

Rick Allen receives the STEP Award from Mike Dell.Rick Allard (right), Regional VP (Virginia) accepts the ABC STEP award from Mike Dell of Comfort Systems, Chair of the ABC - Virginia Safety Committee, at the Hampton Roads Awards Luncheon on July 20, 2017.

Established in 1989 by the ABC National Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Committee, the Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors.

The Key Component system forms a 20-point guide to starting, updating or auditing a company-wide safety program, Incorporates lagging indicator safety performance data with leading indicator use and self-assessment requirements to give a full, wide ranging report on the entire nature of a company's Safety Program Designed to benefit both large and small contractors alike.
